This is a 5 GHz wireless access point designed for wireless ISP deployments and point-to-point links. The AF-5XHD uses custom silicon and radio architecture to deliver up to 1.34 Gbps real-world throughput, with spectral efficiency of 21.2 bits per hertz. It features low latency performance, extended range capability via XRT technology, and support for higher modulation constellations with future firmware updates. The unit draws power via PoE and mounts directly into compatible airFiber X antenna brackets without requiring additional tools.

The radio supports slant-polarised antennas for improved noise immunity and signal-to-noise ratio. User-selectable profiles allow optimisation for high-interference environments, whilst redundant firmware images provide configuration backup and fail-safe operation. An antenna aiming guard alerts users to any physical changes to the radio or antenna alignment, helping detect tampering or weather-related damage.
